The Proteus Studio is a small design studio based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, creating retro-inspired travel art, Australian botanical nursery prints, and printable activity books for families.
Our Story
We started The Proteus Studio because we love this part of the world and wanted to capture it: the mid-century colour palettes of a Queensland summer, the soft botanical shapes of native Australian animals, and the small everyday moments of family life. What began as a handful of travel poster designs for our own home has grown into a full collection of framed wall art, nursery prints, and digital downloads.
What We Make
- Retro Sunshine Coast travel posters — mid-century style artwork celebrating Noosa, Mooloolaba, Caloundra, and other favourite spots along the coast, available as framed prints or instant digital downloads.
- Australian nursery art — soft, botanical-style prints of native animals like koalas, wombats, and kookaburras, designed for nurseries and kids' rooms.
- Printable activity books and parenting checklists — colouring books, memory journals, and practical checklists designed in Australia for Australian families.
How It's Made
Framed prints are produced through our print partner network, printed on quality 170gsm coated silk paper and finished in a premium black wooden frame, made to order rather than mass-produced and warehoused. Digital products are designed to be downloaded instantly and printed at home or at your local print shop.
